I grew up right here in Champaign-Urbana. This community gave me everything — the courts to play on, the coaches who pushed me, the fans who believed in me. Playing basketball for the University of Illinois wasn't just an athletic achievement. It was an honor to represent the place that raised me.
The Beginning
After college, I had the opportunity to play professionally in Europe — nearly a decade competing at the highest level, living in Austria, Germany, Italy and France, and building a family with my wife Theresa while living overseas. It was an incredible chapter that allowed us to see the world.
In 2019, I retired from basketball. Theresa and I sat down to decide where we wanted to build our life — where to raise our sons Andrew, Malachi, Dominic, and Simeon.
And we decided to come home.
The Journey
Real estate was on my mind long before I retired. I got my license in 2017 while still playing overseas, learning the market from a distance. When I went full-time in 2023, I wasn't starting from scratch. I was finally going all-in on something I'd been building toward for years.
What I love about this work is that it mirrors everything I valued in athletics. Strategy. Preparation. A solid game plan. And the ability to adjust on-the-go.
